My next vacation

I really looking forward for my next vacations, I have had a difficult time in college this semester, mainly for all the things I have to do for different classes, including English. During January, I will go to Woodstaco, the chilean version of the mythic festival "Woodstock" and then I will travel to Argentina with my girlfriend, unless I don't have any money. That would be a bummer.
In Argentina we are going to visit Buenos Aires with my girlfriend's best friend, Filomena, and also with her boyfriend, Maximiliano. That was the first idea, but a few weeks ago I told to Catalina, my gf, that maybe we could visit Montevideo too and go to some beaches down there.
I would like to visit more places in Argentina or maybe go to South Chile then, but that cost to much money and I can't do nothing with that. Just like I said, I don't have time this semester for studying and less for find a job.
Argentina is a really nice place to visit, all my life I have planned a trip to there and hopefully reach all the corners of that beautiful land. Probably we are going by bus , is just one day travel so ain't that bad.
I do not know how much it will cost, not more than 300 thousand pesos, I guess.

"La Ruta"

Talk about the TV & film  industry product

I really like the TV series, but the ones who treat about humanity matters, like documentaries or journalist reports. Since I was in 6th grade I got used to watch many documentaries like "La Ruta (of)..." from Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) with the journalist and anthropologist Ricardo Astorga, I really loved to see new landscapes and cultures recorded with a first person camera. Also, I liked the feeling that a Chilean was recording all those adventures, not just an international reporter from the US or Europe.

I think the genre is a mix of documentary and travel, also a little bit of adventure inside big jungles, the highest mountains or in the last corner of the earth. The series last for 8 seasons with more than 10 chapters, each one, and ten countries visited by Astorga and company.

The cast was always composed by Ricardo Astorga, who was also the director of the documentary, and another woman, like an actress or a TV entertainer.

The reception from people I think was good, of course, in Chile we aren't use to watch educational television, and less if its not a silly cartoon from united states. So, I don't think the expectations were the best, regarding that at that time, during the early 21 century, the internet wasn't so massive, so not a lot of people could go on the website to watch the beautiful landscapes that were recorded in "La Ruta".
I still think it was a really nice tv series because it shows how people live in a remote part of the world not just threw the news, it was about showing the feelings of that person, wild animals or environment.

Naomi Klein, Journalist

I really admired the Canadian journalist, Naomi Klein, who has published many books about ecology, feminism and critics about capitalism and globalism. She was born in Montreal, Canada on 8th of May in 1970 ( so now she is 45 years old).
She was raised in a Jewish and hippie family, his parents are both famous artists and scientists. Bonnie Sher Klein, her mother, is a famous filmmaker known for her film Not a Love Story, and her father, Michael Klein, is a physician and a member of Physicians for Social Responsability.
Her Alma Mater is the University of Toronto, where she studied journalism many years, but she didn't graduate because all the troubles she had at home and her early career in college newspapers and also on the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.
Her first important publications was in 2000, with the book No Logo. This book treats all the corporate globalization, making a critic about the consume culture is inserted on our, occidental, minds.  This book had such an impact, that even the trademark Nike published a response, because of the over million copies from this book.
This first book is the one I like the most and also "The Shock Doctrine", where she deals with the tactics of capitalism for found their doctrine over the socialist or communist economic system.

Last news in Chile

The last thirty days in Chile all the public services of Civil Registry have been paralyzed. All these problems started many years ago, but since the actual president began her command, the relationship beetwenn the national service of civil registry and the government, started a very friction about their demands , salary hike, a pay bonus, and better labor conditions, and what Michelle Bachelt it's willing to give.
First, this problem started in Santiago, capital of Chile, but lately another public employees, organized by the ANEF(National Association of Fiscal Workers) ,  joined the strike.
On the long term, the consequences might be very good , many benefits for the public employees, like the right for being organized as a labor unión, what it's forbidden by our dictatorial Constitution.
On the other hand, there are many people now that can not make their normal procedures on the Civil Registry, and that may have consequences on the their Jobs, private life and future trips they may want to do. I don't try to be empathic just with the privat procedures, at all. I'm just trying to think the news from the other side of the polemic. Not like our channels, radios and newspapers points of view, that usually don't like when private or public employees manifest their unrest about their labor conditions.

South Chile and my favorite pic

This is my last favorite picture, guess which place it is... It's Llanquihue lake , in the southern region of Los Lagos in Chile. I spent my last holidays there and I stayed for four days camping on the beach right by the Llanquihue town. Normally I take my own pictures with my sister Nikon camera, so ,during my hitch hiking trip in South Chile, I brought the camera with me and I took many pictures. From all of those photos I took , this is my favorite. Actually, this picture is my cover photo on my Facebook.
This picture represents my chill holidays , far away from the big cities and all the noise we usually suffer. It specially like me due the beautiful sunsets I saw. Also , when I see the men on the boat , down the Osorno volcano, inspires me the feeling of being in the middle of the like with no sound and no worries.
I have to add one more thing, I think it looks very good and I'm proud of this one :)

I hope you'll like my picture

Bye bye

Music styles and culture

Bossa Nova

This genre of music was born in Brazil, in Rio do Janeiro specifically. Bossa Nova's influences are Jazz and Brazilian samba. Bossa nova means "new trend" in Portuguese, which is related to the begging of a new kind of music during the 50' and 60' in Brazil.
It was very popular, even in nowadays you can hear people hearing new Bossa Nova songs, that's  why so many Brazilians  say it describes their culture very good. A relaxing and enchanting rhythm who explains why Brazilians are so nice and amicable.
I have many friends from Brazil and I can tell that it really fits really good their personality. Maybe now is not so popular in their country like Sertanejo or Funk Carioca, and just old people remember it, but the roots of brazil are in Bossa Nova, its a crosscutting rhythm.
Singers like Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa or Vinicius de Moraes, are great artists so I recommend them to you all!

I'll leave a youtube link from my Bossa Nova's favorite song:

My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is my Ipod. It was a gift from Santa Claus during Christmas 2014th, it really made my daym :) The cool thing is that I can bring all my music everywhere, but I don't  use it so often now, because I used to play the music too loud and I'm going deaf.
Why do I like my Ipod? The main reason is that it has 160 GB of memory, so I can hear all my music I have on my laptop and I don't have to choose which music I want to have on it, I just pick and play everything I want. Before that Christmas I used to have an Ipod too, but it just had a 8 GB memory, not enough.
The last two months without my Mp3 Player have been great. I miss it , but life goes on.

Bye!
